Hot Wheels® fans can take their traditional racetrack experience to a whole new level with Augmoto™ - an augmented reality racetrack. Trigger partnered with Hot Wheels® to build an app-enabled toy that is set to revolutionize the way fans engage with the physical Hot Wheels® cars and playsets.
With the purchase of a physical set, gamers can download the free AR app on their preferred smart device and see the 6-foot Augmoto™ track come to life via object recognition. Racers can choose to challenge a friend or the computer, and then control every aspect of the game as they race to victory using their digital device. These gameplay features include: AR power-ups, vehicle charging, attack modes and mini-games to repair a vehicle or defend from an attack. Additionally, the scene is brought to life with celebratory effects, cheering crowds, flying drones, fireworks and more.
Augmoto™ is a a true mixed reality experience which transcends the traditional in-home, physical car racing experience, and helps to carry Hot Wheels® Augmoto™ into the digital age! I supported Trigger's LA team in the early concepting, design styling and prototyping phases of Mattel's Augmoto. Helping to developing the broader aspects of play, UX and visual appeal.
