The Whirlpool concept oven - showcased at CES 2019 - has a fully transparent 27” display designed to help the cooking process and deliver recipes directly to the user onscreen. Connect to a Yummly account to browse recipes, plan meals around the calendar appointments of every family member and view step-by-step cooking instructions on the oven screen - even for multiple recipes at a time!
AR was leveraged to preview recipe dishes as full 3D food models, and provide in-oven cavity utilization guidance, such as where to place oven trays, etc. Face tracking technology then helps position AR content in the oven relative to the user’s position.
